Ellie & Bob
We are so glad we found Villa Mandoo on a website (no idea which one). We have been here with our 2 adult children and one of their partners. The accommodations were perfect for us and the view spectacular. We didn't "do" a lot, having been to St Lucia before but we dove twice with Eastern Caribbean Divers from the Windjammer. We swam in the bay out front and at the little beach. We also used the Windjammer for water skiing (a bonus). We mostly cooked in but enjoyed our afternoon & evening at Marigot Bay where we went to the restaurant Rainforest Hideaway. Truly magical, plus the food was great. Pricey but worth it and we ate beans & rice most nights at home. The lettuce in the garden was also a bonus as we are big salad eaters. We like the new grocery store but the the chain [JQ's] is cheaper. No real complaints - maybe a couple of sharper knives. Marie-anne and Anthony were helpful, nice and unobtrusive. She did our laundry + cooked pumpkin soup, a vegetable salad, and her version of rice and beans which was great.

The internet was fussy but we got the job done [router sometimes needs to be rebooted].

I forgot to mention that we went to church on xmas eve in Gros Islet at the Catholic church. We aren't Catholic, but the music, the diversity of the congregation that night, and the pageantry was and experience and worth doing

We would definitely come again. A perfect place for a family to congregate.

Villa Mandoo is amazing

The views and the location were perfect. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit here and would schedule our next vist here. We had 9 guests, which was accommodated well here. Treavel by taxi was simple and the diving at Anse Chastanet was amazing! Island Dives did a very good job arranging our dives and included transportation and food. A two-tank dive will take the entire day, but is worth it. We can't recommend any of the restaurants because we cooked our own meals, but Marie Anee cooked us a wonderful meal! Marie Anne and Tony were a blessing to have around and Tony even took us to Rondney Bay to shop. We found Villa Mandoo on VRBO website and I highly recommend this website for private vacation rentals. Ellie & Bob Morgan were so easy to work with and always answered our emails. St Lucia has a beauty like no other island and we have enjoyed being a part of it for this week. It will forever be in our hearts.

Just a quick note to say we had a fabulous time in your villa last month, it was a real joy.  It felt like a home from home in paradise.  The views had to be believed, and I need not tell you the fantastic position that this property enjoys.  I found a world that I never knew existed under the rocks in the bay.  The energy of the place is very peaceful.  I think everyone in our group enjoyed the holiday and the welcome that Marie Ann and Anthony gave us was very heartwarming, you have without doubt two very loyal and hard working people that you can be proud of.  They are a true asset to you and you are lucky to have them.  Thank you again for letting your property to us.

We spent seven lovely days in St. Lucia at “Villa Mandoo” with 2 other couples and had a wonderful time.  Marie Anne, the housekeeper, made our stay especially enjoyable.  The pool and beach were more than we could ask for.  While the house is older, it is very comfortable and all the bedrooms have water views and private baths.  The large terrace is especially enjoyable for candlelight dining overlooking the Caribbean Sea.  We found Villa Mandoo and St. Lucia to be a wonderful vacation spot.

I wanted to tell you how much we enjoyed our stay in St. Lucia.  Villa Mandoo was wonderful and you have discovered two gems in Marie Anne and Anthony.  Both of them did so much to make our stay comfortable.  Marie Anne made several of her specialties and each dish was delicious.  Anthony brought me a pineapple from his garden and told me a little about the native vegetation.  It was a memorable experience and one that we’d like to repeat again soon.  Again, thanks for everything.

Just a quick email to say that we had an amazing holiday.  The villa was superb, not only spacious & comfortable, but with that something extra that is impossible to describe.

We had a fantastic holiday.  Villa Mandoo is amazing with wonderful views.  The position of the plot is one of the best on the island.  It is so secluded yet still open.  Marie Anne was a lovely lady and did all the washing for us and cooked a meal which was delicious.  She kept herself busy while we were there and did not intrude on our privacy whilst we were at the villa.  The garden and pool were lovely and provided great enjoyment for the whole family.  We went to the Coal Pot for dinner, a wonderful restaurant, but found mosquitoes being near the water in the early evening.

We also had the most amazing trip to the grenadines where we took a catamaran trip and went swimming with the turtles.  All in all we had a great time in the sun, one of the best holidays ever.

Fantastic location with wonderful views and acess to the sea.  Spacious quaint house, slightly unusual layout.  Very good for several couples or families with older children.  Swimming pool is fabulous and long for those who like training.  Sun chairs for those who like lazing.  Friendly, helpful staff.  Clean and well maintained.  Great to be near winjammer Landings.  Lovely, shaded outdoor terrace overlooking beautifully kept garden and sea.

We had so much fun in St. Lucia.  We all enjoyed your home and the view.  Marie Anne and Anthony were good to us.  The pool was great.  We laughed and created new memories.  Seven women, knowing everyone from high school and all turning 50 this year.  I would love to take the family sometime.

Dear Morgans

Well we have been and returned.

All of us felt there wasn't any place else on the island we weould rather be. (Maybe its just because we are from Canada and used to mosquitoes but I only heard one the entire time. ) How can you beat a place that has it's own private snorkelling cove and just a country lane away a sandy beach used only be a few locals. We quickly felt like one of the locals retreiving any leather shoes we were silly enough to leave out from Patty ... her dogs are the nicest mannered theives and very careful with what they take home.

The swimming pool was big enough that you can actually swim lengths in it not just float about as with so many new ones, mind you for thoose who wanted to float the cut away afinity side made for very nice floating.

Mostly the place had the same effect on you an old Muskoka cottage would, it made you relax, everything was gently worn with the patina of a past and the quirks were just that, quirky not annoying.  The other reason the place is so relaxing is there is so much room, the bedrooms are large, the washrooms large, the dressing areas large, the living area is large and I have no idea what the dining area feels like as we ate every single meal in the more than generous loggia. It may not be the latest designer yuppy but it sure is generous and comfortable.

Mairie Ann and Anthony were great. Mairie Ann exposed us to local cooking and Anthony supplied us with green coconuts, and dried coconuts.

A real bonus was the "Car Guy". With seven of us the seven seater car didn't have room for us and our luggage, so they met us and drove both our car and another vehicle with luggage and some of us up to the villa. This meant we didn't have to worry about not finding the place and we didn't have to worry about driving onthe wrong side of the road for an hour right after getting off the plane. They were great.

So thank you for making a two generation witrh many special needs holiday so memorable.

Thank you for letting us stay in your great house (and the coils/sprays you thoughtfully provided!). As locations go it really is idyllic! Bob's father really knew what is was doing when he picked the spot and designed the house (though I'm surprised he didn't include a toilet with access from the outside!!!). The house is well equipped and the pool, terrace and gardens are lovely. I adored having the outside shower, much to my surprise (no luxury hotel bathroom will match that!) and the sea views everywhere were fabulous. We had a wonderful stay and would love to be able to return some day though I doubt we will be able to afford it for many years to come unfortunately (this year's was a special holiday, not the sort of thing we do every year - air fares for 4 from the UK are pretty steep!). We've stayed in many nice houses over the years, but I can honestly say this is the only one I wish I could actually own.
